Tender vagina after sex?

Friday night I had sex for the first time in months and straight after my period so I was super tight. We used a condom for like a little bit but eventually took it off. Both of us have been tested for STD’s so this isn’t it. I told him he could go a little more rough. It was great I didn’t have any pain while it happened. But now it’s Monday and my vagina has been tender and sore since and it gets so irritating to sit down for a while it feels better when I lay down and air it out. But yeah that’s it. Anybody know what’s going on?
