Depo shot!! What are your thoughts?!

Question

I recently just got my first Depo shot three month ago, and do I have to say this have changed me emotionally and my period drastically...
My question to you is this something my body needs to figure out and get used to (get that shot again) or do I find a different BC? 
I can’t imagine going through the hormonal shock again.

Depo was terrible for me- I did it 3 times over nine months. I was an emotional disaster and gained a bunch of weight. :(

Personally when I went on it, at first it reduced my hormonal outbursts but then the more I had it (I had 3 in total) the worse I got all the time and not just when I should have had my period. I was in a permanent bad mood. But I think it depends on you as a person. I also bled for the whole 9 months I was on it and a couple months after, and I mean nonstop period for almost a year. Even though I had a bad experience I would still say have another 2 before you make any decisions to change. It could just be your body getting used to it. I know a lot of people that have had no problem with it after the first few months.

I had 2 shots and stopped it, the depression and weight gain, wasnt worth the no periods.
I had a 3 week long bleed when I didn’t get my 3rd shot, i haven’t had a period since mid January and my doctor says it can take upto a year for my periods to regulate again

I’ve been on depo for over a year now and personally I love it. I’ve never gotten a period since. I only spot for a about two to three days after I get the shot but that’s it. But you have to remember everyone’s body will react different to it.
