Early period

I've been taking the pill for two years now. And it's been great and easy. I never miss a pill thanks to eves reminder. Of course I might have missed once or twice in the past but only if I forgot my pills home and was out. My period is regular. And always comes on during the placebo week. But I have a question I'm just thinking of now that I never thought about before: When I'm on my period, usually 3 days into the placebo week, do I start a new pack of pills even though I'm on my period or wait for my period to end to start a new pack?

I'm asking because I've been finishing my placebo week and waiting for my period to end to start a new pack. But this month I've had two periods. March 3-7 and then Ai started bleeding heavily, more than usual, on a March 18 until March 23. But during that time I was only a week in to my active pills when my period started again. So like usual I just stopped taking my pills until my period ended. I had sex the night my period ended which was yesterday and didn't take my pill that night. But I'll take it tonight as usual. But I was already a week into my pack too.
