Group B Strep positive

Reached my 37th week and was told I'm GBS positive from swab test done last week. It's scary reading stuff from Internet about infecting my little one. Does antibiotics via IV drip during labor really help to prevent infection to baby or should I opt for elective c-section? My priority is to have a healthy baby! Does GBS cause symptoms such as occasional burning sensation and/or yellow discharge? Thank you in advance for all response
