Interracial Relationships?

Okay so I’ll be brief. My mom has told me in the past that I’m not allowed to date an African American. I think there is nothing wrong with dating outside of your race. I’ve been “talking” to one of my close friends for a while now and I really like him and we’ve talked about dating and we both really want to. How do I tell my mom I’m going to date him when she does not want me to? I want to change her mind as I really like this boy and would do anything for him.
