Legal Advice?

Ali

I’m going to tell this story with detail and honesty. I need to know if there’s a way I can get around this.

I worked at a nursing home from June 2014- June 2017. (3 years)

When I was roughly 3 months pregnant (June ‘17) I passed out at work. I was told that if I left to go to the hospital for fetal monitoring that I would be fired and not to come back. Well, obviously I did leave because my baby is far more important than my job.

I’m not saying I was the perfect employee. I was late and I had to call out a lot when my moms cancer got bad and then when I was pregnant due to HG.

but here’s my question.

Is that legal? To fire me for needing medical attention?

If I tried to combat it, could they try and back track and say it was for other purposes?

I just want to be able to go visit the residents. It’s been 10 months and I love and miss them so much. I hate seeing familiar names and faces pop up in the obituaries when I never got to say goodbye. I don’t want money. I just want to see these people who are like family to me.

Thank you xx
