I think my boyfriend has an STD

I have a new boyfriend I’m a virgin never been with a guy however he is not a virgin. I noticed all over his hands he has like rashes and lots of scabs and stuff so I was like wtf are those but I felt bad so I didn’t mention anything however we was getting kind of sexual the other day and when he pulled down his pants he had it around this private area aswell all scabs and weird bumps and things there that I know shouldn’t be there. I didn’t want to risk it so I made up some random excuse so we didn’t do anything sexual but I feel like it might be a sexual disease but feel awkward asking him in case it’s something like a skin condition. Does this sound like it could be an STD?
