39 week labor!!?

Okay momma's alittle nervous now, my appointment went the opposite of what I thought today. My doctor won't be delivering our little one also she wants me to be induced at 39 weeks (April 4th) and I have to have cervidil and pitocin. Extremely nervous about both medicinations because I want a natural labor. Any moms out there ever had this situation without an epidural? Also what are your experiences with the medicines? Needing some support. lol

I was induced with both of these meds with my son and had no problems. No epidural! I have no comparison but I didn’t think the pain was in any way intolerable!

Big babies are not a reason for induction! I delivered a 9.5 lb baby vaginally and went into labor naturally. At 41 weeks!  They were also off by over a pound when they “estimated” his weight. Please do not be coerced into an induction if you don’t feel comfortable with it. It most certainly will lead to more interventions and possible c section. Everyone’s story is different but I found w my first being induced w cervidil and petocin was awful. You’re bed ridden to begin with. And it brought everything on so much quicker and with intensity. However it wasn’t productive... my body couldn’t do what it needed with how quickly it started the intense contractions. I labored for 18 hours. Multiple times our daughters heart rate declined too. Thankfully she was healthy and is now 11 years old! Due to my experience tho I would decline an induction if at all possible. 
Again. Every story is different. You have to do what feels right for you!

With an induction  you have options. It's important that the dr discuss them with you. I wanted an all natural delivery too. I had to be induced for high bp with our daughter at 39 weeks and had the foley balloon (mechanical, no drugs) and it worked wonderfully. Hurt but did it's job! Then I had pitocin, and they increased it very slowly as to mimic spontaneous labor. I delivered without pain meds and despite the induction was very happy with how it all went. Good luck!

What’s the reasoning? I have refused it so far. I’ll be 38 weeks Saturday with gestational diabetes and lupus with previous preeclampsia with previous pregnancy. I am baby are doing fine. No reason to induce.

Also why is she not delivering you? And if she’s not, why is she in charge of your labor plan? I would ask for a second opinion.
