Is this normal?

is it normal for a scar to go from a regular pinkish color to a bright red ?

first pic is how it looked normally but just a few days ago it turned like the bottom pic.

When did you get the cut? 
Have you been scratching it or picking at it (if it still had scabs at the time). 
If it’s a new cut that you got today, then put hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol on it, and cover it with a bandaid. If you have Neosporin put that on too. It’s likely infected. 
If it’s a new cut you got a few days ago I’d still say use hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol and then cover it with a bandaid. It could be infected. Then put an ice pack on it to decrease the swelling. 
If this is an old cut, you should be fine. However if it’s raising up and getting any clear and/or white pus, it’s probably infected and you should clean it with hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol. Check on it in a few hours after treating it and if it’s still bad then it’s definitely infected and you should go to the doctor ASAP.

Sorry I didn't make it clear ☹I ment it was a scar from surgery i had in December and I haven't scratched it but it is itchy
