Fertility after delivery??

Question? How were you and your SO able to avoid pregnancy after your delivery? I’m only at 2wks PP but my biggest fear right is getting pregnant again (too soon). I will not take birth control just because I’m against using the product and what it could potentially do to your body so that’s not an option. Plus we’re married so we don’t really ever use condoms. Lol, I get it sounds inevitable but do you ladies have any similar experiences and if so what did you do?

10 years married here and we don't use BC or condoms either! First of all we wait the full time for drs approval and then we just use the pull-out method, which everyone says doesnt work, but this is baby #3 so it works for us.  After baby is here it's not like we having sex every-day, so the odds of concieving are low.  I would track your cycle and just don't have sex when you are fertile. My husband knows having unprotected sex leads to babies and he has always been okay with it. We have a pattern that works for us,  so find out what works with you guys,  whether it's using strips to see if you are ovulating,  or cutting back on sexy time a bit lol.  If you guys can't keep your hands off each other and want to do the deed everyday,  your odds of conceiving are high.  Talk to your hubby and tell him everthing and make a decision together.

I got a copper IUD! No hormones, which is exactly what I wanted. It’s fitted by a doctor, so no forgetting to take it, and can last for 5 or 10 years. I love mine, best BC I’ve used!

I know it sucks to use condoms, but if you want to avoid becoming pregnant again, it would be best to use them. We haven’t used condoms in years and we have already bought a couple boxes of condoms. You are at possibly the most fertile you’ve ever been and even pullout could be a risk.

Condoms, but we’ve always liked condoms. The one and only time we didn’t use them after baby we got pregnant (ended in miscarriage though).

We’re married too and have been for five years, but we still use condoms when trying to prevent pregnancy. It’s not as fun but it’s responsible. And condoms are cheaper than unplanned children. We adore our daughter and want more children, but aren’t ready yet.

We avoid pregnancy by abstaining from sex for the first 6 weeks and then using birth control from there. Pretty simple. The pull out “method” isn’t birth control so other than not having sex at all, your best bet is birth control and/or condoms. If you don’t want a baby right now then please protect yourself. Don’t leave it to chance and hope you don’t get pregnant. That’s really not fair to the baby.

We use condoms. I got pregnant 8 weeks after we got married. And then 7 months after that baby was born. We aren’t taken by any chances.

I worry about this too, for after we have our baby this summer. I've never been on birth control in my life (and I give that a big chunk of credit for why we were able to conceive right away), and I really really don't want to go on it postpartum. This is our first child and we want to have at least 2 more. I'll be 31 when I deliver, and I know as the years go, on age will not be on my side. So I don't want coming off of birth control when we're ready to start TTC again to be an issue. I'm interested to hear what other women have to say.
