So me and my fiancé haven’t been together too long. Only 4 months before we took a break so he could focus on work and pay off his student loans as quickly as he could before they started charging interest. We lost all contact from then until St. Patrick’s day and have been together since then. He asked me to marry him maybe a week later and so we can’t really go around and be all happy together about getting engaged around family yet. He asked me to marry him without a ring just telling me how much he missed me and how he only ever wanted to be with me for the rest of our lives.

(That’s a ring I had and I’m using it as a placeholder until he had money to get me one.) I am getting him a ring too because he wants one so when we can’t be together he can keep girls from throwing themselves at him like they usually do.

That’s us from last week, I went to visit him for the week and we went to the beach!

I just had to share this somewhere because I am so happy about it and all of my friends are happy for us having known our relationship before he left and seeing how happy we are. I can’t tell my parents which is killing me because I’m very close with my mom and I feel bad but she won’t understand. She doesn’t like how quickly I seem to rush into things and she doesn’t understand the amount of love in our relationship having not seen us together very often. She knows that we will last and that someday we will get married but not yet. We don’t want to get married for a few years when I am out of school and we are more financially stable but we want to be able to make this commitment. It’s not like promise rings to us even though everyone else might think that.
