when did you announce your pregnancy?

I know it is usually best for most people to announce pregnancy at the end of the first trimester, but I'm afraid I won't be able to keep it a secret that long! for one, I already have nausea and for now. it's only in the morning but I'm afraid it will start at work and don't want my coworkers to just assume I'm lazy or hiding in bathroom lol and it won't be long before they notice my bloated belly lol. also, my job is very physically demanding. I'm not sure when I should stop doing such vigorous things or lower my duties. But, I wanted to wait a while and make an actual announcement with my first child for Facebook and friends and family. should I go ahead and tell my coworkers? I am approximately  8W2D today.

I announce right away. my thoughts are, I want to enjoy every second that I am pregnant. because if God forbid something were to happen, that wouldn't make me any less pregnant for the amount of time that I was pregnant. also, if something were to happen, I woukd want the love and support from my friends and family.

I let my boss know as soon as i found out in case anything happened. especially at work. and then if my coworkers had anything to say at least someone could back me up and eventually when i was ready to tell everyone they could bite their tongue on thinking I was just lazy. I dont care what people assume tho.

I’m 17 weeks tmr and still haven’t had an actually announcement. I’m an EMT and told a supervisor at about 8 weeks. As for the job being super physical with heavy lifting, pushing and pulling my Dr. wasn’t concerned at all. She said as long as it’s something I’ve been doing all along then I will be fine. I thought this was funny since she told me not to shovel snow but I work with obese patients on a daily basis. 🤷🏼‍♀️ good luck with everything. Tell people how you wish! Do what makes you happy!

I told close family immediately but I didn't announce publicly til I found out the sex.

We told our immediate family right away, followed by my best friends. I told my supervisor and my closest coworkers early on too because I work in a lab that requires some physical labor and working with some chemicals and machines, plus gowning up and de-gowning the lab coats was so obvious. They were very respectful and understanding until we announced our pregnancy publicly around 11 weeks.

You need to tell your job, that way you can cut back a bit. In your first trimester everything is growing, and being put in place it’s very important and certain physical activity at work you may not be able to do. But first ask your ob and tell him Excatly what you do so he can give you an idea of what not to do. You don’t have to tell everyone just your boss.

I told a few coworkers as my job is also physically demanding so the people I worked with daily knew early. Luckily I had no nausea or vomiting so I could hide it longer. Close friends and family we told along the way as we felt comfortable. We announced to everyone at 15 we’re after our genetic screening results came back.
