How often are ultrasounds wrong?

How often does the technician get the gender wrong? Who has been told they are having a boy or a girl and had the opposite?

This is def not a common occurrence. This is has never personally happened to me but the only person I know that this happened to was 20 something years ago, I’d imagine the tech is much more high tech now.

I recently heard they are correct about 70% of the time...but that seems low to me based on friends/family.
I know maybe two people who were told the incorrect gender in 50-100 pregnancies (I have a huge family).

it happens but u don't think it to common.. I don't personally know anyone nwho was told wrong. I has a private scan at 17 weeks and was told girl, Dr confirmed it at my anatomy scan.

A friend of mine was told she was having a girl and baby was born a boy

It happened to my mom about 27 years ago but I haven't heard of it happening recently

my first child the tech kept saying from 18 weeks to 24 it was a girl. surprise surprise at 25 weeks the new tech said it was a boy. and he was. but that was the first of three children i had and only happened with my first.
