Does weed affect pregnancy?

Question

I am 18 years old and me and my hubby want to have a baby. we are both heavy pot smokers. ive been told that smoking weed can affect fertility when ttc and can harm the baby after you get pregnant even if you stop once you get a BFP. Is this true? I would never smoke while pregnant because it scares me  but is it harmful while trying?

there is no set study in humans but it was found to negatively affect fertility in monkeys for the first 3 months of starting to smoke but then their fertility leveled out to normal. my husband has smoked for almost 20 years and ive smoked for 13 years, aside for while i was pregnant. with our first we werent trying so we were still heavily using. with this pregnancy i counted it like the "drink until its pink" motto. i smoked until i got my positive.

my husband and I have both been heavy smokers for about a decade , we got pregnant when we weren't ttc .I'm not sure that it affects fertility at all .

it negatively impacts fertility and its bot favorable to have it in your system when you conceive. if its in your lungs and your bloodstream then it will 100% be in the fetus's.

My mom couldn't get pregnant when ttc with a guy that smokes weed heavily, it lowered his sperm count, I wouldn't when ur pregnant because I've heard of people getting their kids taken at birth because they do a lot of blood work and found weed in their system

Don't listen to everybody's opinion seriously do your own research. Be warned there are a lot of fake studies out there that suggest that it affects fertility and development. When actually the human body developes it's own canabinoids and has canabinoid receptors (that's why Marijuana interacts with the human body). Also I got pregnant 1st time we tried and I've been smoking weed for 10 years now. (I even have a varying cycle so I thought I would struggle to conceive but I did not). I drank a lot of water everyday when I tried to conceive because I read that the body tends to not prioritise reproductive organs when it's getting dehydrated.

Well if it is harmful when pregnant and you don’t find out immediately then the damage will already be done ... most people find out between 4-8 weeks they are pregnant so I would recommend you both giving it up whilst trying

In my experience... I tried for a little over a year to get pregnant and I was told it was be really hard for me if it was to happen. I started smoking because it dramatically helped with period (long story) and a couple of months I actually ended up pregnant. My baby daddy was smoking too. I stopped smoking when I found out i was pregnant but I’ve have MANY friends say that they smoked their whole pregnancy and have healthy babies.
