How to balance work and children..?

My main goal in life is to have beautiful, happy, and successful children. I have personally decided that I want to be a full-time stay at home mom. I want to have a job beforehand, however. I'm just in a position where I'm confused on how to achieve someone that can truly support me financially once I am a mom.

Currently, I have a boyfriend. I want to spend my life with him, and I love him deeply, but it doesn't look like he's a good match for me in terms of the future I want. My boyfriend hates school, he despises the idea of going to college and getting a degree, and he hates the idea of getting a job. He's not a low-life or anything. He's very intelligent and open-minded, but he has had years of poor academic experiences including abusive behavior from teachers. He has a terrible work ethic, but I need a man to support me in the future. If he can't sustain himself, how can he sustain a family?

I know I would probably do better than him in the workplace, but I don't believe anybody could ever raise my children better than me. Being a stay at home mom is my #1 dream job, but I need the proper tools to make it happen. What should I do??
