Im confuesed

I have like dark brown/red discharge. But its like im on my period. I have cramps and i need to wear a pad. I am on the pill. And im still taking this months pills. Im supposed to start my period next week. When i take the week break. Is it possible im on my period? If so, will i still be able to have my period come normal. Like not last two weeks a month. This happened last year and i had to take a break from the pill to even things out.
