Period 2weeks/Provera Successful? TTC

I didn't have my period for almost two years. My doctor put me on Provera to kick start my period she told me if it didn't start then I'd have to get an ultrasound to see if I had any cyst. So February was my first round and 7 days after my last pill my period started. It lasted 4 days. then this Cycle it started on the same day (28th) heavily for the first 2 days then I been spotting on and off and today it went from spotting to looking like a normal period. My doctor said it was fine, because I didn't have a period for so long the lining was probably think and it's shedding. We are trying to Conceive and according to GLOW I'm ovulating today but I still have my period. I'm also taking Metformin and have lost weight. Has anyone had this happen??? Did you have success after Provera?
