Opk before af question

So before I begin- I know that opks cannot be used as hpts.

This month has been a doozy. On cd 1 I had a fever for two weeks straight so I think it through my cycle off. I thought I may have ovulated on cd 16, due to ewcm. However I started having pains and a positive opk a week later! (So about 5 days before my period would have begun on a normal cycle. Cd 23)

On cd 28, I took another opk and it was a strong positive, the darkest I’ve gotten. I didn’t start my period on my normal cd 28 but have been having cramping like it could start any minute since cd 27. It is now cd 32 (where I estimate I might start due to my first sighting of ewcm) and I had the most negative opk I have ever seen. I couldn’t even see the other line!

Does lh surge and go back down before a period, or should it stay high until the period is over? I’m so done with this month! I did take a frer on Wednesday and it was negative.

Edit: in just wondering if this mean my period will come soon or if I have to wait another week. I just want this cycle to be over so I can start trying again!
