contractions and pains

Every day for last 3 days I start having contractions and lightening pain they start about the same time usually progressing from 10 min apart to 3 minutes about last about 1-2 hours becoming more frequent amd stronger and then they just stop. I've tried resting, walking, showering etc when they start i cant seem to stop them they just seem to start and stop on their own. ive told my ob who i feel like kinda blew it off said he'll check me at my next appointment next week. anybody else go through this every day? its exhausting me
