Anyone take their 8 month old on a long car trip?

Me and my family are going on vacation and it’s about a 10 hour drive.my youngest will be 8 months when we go. Any advice on the car ride? I’m a little nervous taking him so far so young. We plan to make lots of rest stop trips so he can move around and stretch out

We took our son to NC from NJ at 2 months.  We actually stopped overnight t give him a break.  All the stops would have made the trip extra long and stressful.  it was easier on us and probably him too

We did about 8 hours when my son was almost 7 months (it took us 10 though). 
We stopped every 2 hours to give him a break from his car seat. First stop about 30 mins to stretch, feed and change baby. The next stop was about halfway, we stopped for a full hour and had lunch. Another 2 hours and then a final 30 minute break before our last 2 hours. He did great. 
The biggest thing is just planning extra time for stops at least every 2 hours. Expect there could be traffic or other delays. Have everything you need for baby easily accessible in the car. If one parent or an older child can sit in the back next to baby to entertain them if needed, that helps. With any luck they will sleep a fair bit. 
Personally anything that would take more than 8 hours without stopping, I would split over 2 Days driving. Just because with the added time it becomes a really long day, but whatever works for you.

Music helped my son. We live in NY and we were driving to DC (About 5-6 hours) and we played music, Had juice for him and little snacks. He slept for most of the ride.
