Should smoking cigarettes in public be illegal?

This is kinda piggybacking off of the secondhand smoke post.

This is something I’ve been meaning to bring up in CC.

My husband, kids and I go out to the zoo, out to eat, the park, etc quite a lot.

One thing we’ve noticed is the heavy use of cigarettes when we go out.

Everyone knows how dangerous secondhand smoke is. My child and I have asthma on top of this, and this makes it unable to continue playing at the park.

My question to CC is, should smoking cigarettes in public (anywhere) be illegal?

Is your right to smoke greater than others rights to healthy lungs/respiratory system?
