Weight problems

My whole life I’ve struggled with food, going from one extreme to the other. In middle school I barely ate anything. I was down to eating one orange or one string cheese as my only meal for the day. Now I’m on a food rampage and I can not stop myself from eating anything I can think of. I bought my prom dress last month and I’ve eaten so much that it doesn’t even fit me anymore. How does a food lover loose weight? Any tips for finding a balance between under eating and over eating? I have one more month to loose the weight and fit my dress again but I’m still gaining... advice please!
