It depends on the person, but it a lot of women, yes it does. And often they don’t even realise it’s the pill or other birth control that’s making them feel that way. 
I was on the pill for 8 months before I made the link between my anxiety and the pill. I went on antidepressants 2 months after starting the pill. It was awful. 
No birth control works for me.

For me, in general, it actually balances some of my minor anxiety out, since it can’t be affected by wild hormone change. However, as much as I don’t have the minor stuff anymore, the pill makes my bigger episodes a bit worse. To me, the couple of bigger moments are worth being able to be balanced in regular life, so the pill is totally worth the slightly-larger-than-normal attack
