Extremely Scary Night

Monday morning I was having a lot of pain in my leg from a golf cart accident which happened on our wedding night back in July.

I started out in the urgent care went straight to the ER because they were scared of blood clot, finally found out just fluid in my leg (abscess) but because I am 18 weeks pregnant and they are a small hospital I had to be taken by ambulance to a bigger hospital.

I figure they are just gonna use a needle and get the fluid out. Then they tell me they gotta put me completely out with breathing tube and everything, cut my leg open and drain the fluid.

I was scared as ever for me and the baby, I have never had surgery before.

We wait hours and hours. And finally bring me down for surgery and then tell me that they will just be doing a spinal tap/epidural for the surgery. Now I am not as scared but I am at the same time. Because I have always had back problems and didn’t want an epidural even for childbirth.

We get to surgery and they do the epidural.

I HATE THE FEELING

I feel completely vulnerable and with no control of my body. Next thing I know I am vomiting uncontrollably into a little sucker tube vacuum thing and shivering and can not stop.

They got all the fluid out and it went well. Regained feeling in the middle of the night.

Staying in the hospital sucks. And they don’t know how long they are keeping me. I have to keep my leg wrapped until baby is born (9/16/2018) and elevated at all times.

I want them to check on baby, but they won’t. Ughhhh
