Should I be worried?

Hi ladies!
Yesterday I went to my OB for an internal sonogram to confirm a miscarriage 😢. The tech asked me if I had ever been diagnosed with pcos and I told her I had not and asked her if it looked like I had it. She said my ovaries "look a little like it and would need blood work to confirm" I had a consult with the doctor after and she said everything looked great. My uterus was healthy and so were my ovaries. She never mentioned pcos or the need to get a blood test for it. I told her about my 36-38 day cycle and that I ovulate around cd25 (I use opks and temp so the temp shift
Indicates I am in fact ovulating) again no concern what so ever. Should I be concerned about what the tech mentioned about pcos?

I have PCOS and it’s more similar to you. I still ovulate and have 35 day cycles. My pcp and obgyn both missed it until I went to an endocrinologist after not being able to get pregnant. It’s better to be tested and find out though. The quicker you can make changes for yourself and if you are trying to get pregnant you may need help. Pcos gives you  a higher risk of miscarriage , infertility, ovarian cancer, weight gain and diabetes. By changing diet you can reduce symptoms (weight, fertility, hair growth, etc). And my dr recommended An IUD when not trying to conceive to reduce chances of cancer. So from someone that should have been diagnosed 10 years ago but it was swept inter the rug.. if the tech asked about it, I’d follow up. I know they shouldn’t diagnose but they know what they are looking at. But even cysts alone aren’t enough to diagnose. You need the blood work.

It is not the place of a tech or nurse to diagnose you. Legally, they cannot. If the doctor looked at it afterwards and didn't see anything, then I would believe the doctor. If you have concerns you should address it with the doctor.

Pcos is characterized by polycystic ovaries which the tech would see on ultrasound but to have a diagnosis you need to meet other criteria. If you are overweight and have hirusitsm (black hairs growing where they shouldn’t be), you should go back and talk to her about it.
