Did you talk before TTC?

My husband and I have talked about TTC and set a timeline. This was one discussion, one night. Since then I’ll bring up things like when I should start taking prenatal vitamins or lifestyle changes we need to make and he shrugs it off. We’re young, party a lot, so I get it he’s not super thrilled to not go out every weekend, but he agreed to the timeline. We agreed to start a family after 6 years together. We agreed we were ready. When you and your SO chatted about TTC were both parties equally thrilled? Am I over-thinking his responses? Thanks ladies!

I’m in the same boat! My husband and I are trying but I can tell at times it feels a bit ‘too real’ for him. Like I said I wanted to get prenatals and he said let’s wait. We have unprotected sex and everything but when I talk about how excited I am to have babies he says he’s not sure he’s ready. Idk part of me feels like men don’t ever feel totally ready. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My fiance feels more than ready. Almost readier than I am or maybe will every feel. Maybe he’s just weird. We’ve always joked how he’s the women and I’m the man in the relationship. I’m the one who wants to go out and work and he’s talked about how he would love to be a stay at home dad

My husband and I "had a plan" but when the time came we both agreed to push it back about 8 months due to different things going on in our lives. It's great to have an idea of what you want, but sometimes you just don't feel ready when the time comes. I think you need to make sure he's still on the same page. If he's having doubts, now may not be the best time.

My husband and I talked a lot about it and also did a lot of financial planning to make sure we were ready before TTC. I think it’s important to make sure you are both fully committed, ready and on the same page.

My husband and I talked before getting married about having more kids ( I have two, he has no biological children) I had told him I didn't want to have anymore and he was ok with it. The month before we got married I told him I had changed my mind and wanted to make something out of our love. I have never loved anyone besides my kids as much as I love this man. I told him from the time I changed my mind that I wanted to get pregnant before I turned 35. He was totally on board and that's when we decided to start trying right after we got married. Just sit down with him and ask him if his feelings about conceiving have changed. Communication is key. Good luck and baby dust!

We both knew we wanted kids but weren't sure when we wanted to. We had a scare one month and his reaction when I wasn't was "Awe man" like he was disappointed. I was shocked. We hadn't been together long. We decided if it happened it happened and if it didn't then it didnt. I was pregnant the next month. Wouldn't change it for the world.

So this happened to me, my partner was really excited but kinda kept putting it off every time we got close to trying. He was quite open about being scared and feeling a lot of pressure but he was never careful when we had sex. He never worries about protection or anything, it was just a “if it happens it happens” thing with him. He was really blunt and distant about all the baby talk. This was until Sunday just gone. I’ve been having cramping and I shared this with him, and we both kinda said “what if” and ever since the prospect has become very real for him he’s actually been so excited, and he really hopes I am pregnant. His whole attitude shifted as soon as it became more than talk. I’m not saying this will definitely work for you however, just remember men are men, and they don’t think too much until something is staring them right in the face x
