Is this normal wife behavior?

I have a friend who has been married for several years, and she frequently takes long vacations with single friends and even went to Europe by herself last year, leaving her husband home alone. I only recently got married and I hadn't thought much into this before...is this something a lot of married women do or is this just straight up strange? I can see going on a girls' weekend or something...but I never remember my mother just going on 2 or 3 vacations per year with her single girlfriends. What do you think?

My mom and dad take trips apart from each other from time to time. I think it's all up to the couple really. Some couples like to have their own hobbies and things apart from each other even though they really do love one another. Sometimes people just need space from one another.

I guess every marriage can be different. I, however, hate being away from my husband. It's terrible enough that he's away often because of the military. So, any extra time apart from that, I just wouldn't want...we wouldn't want. :)

Why does it matter that her friend's are single? They probably just happen to be single. Who wants to spend all their time with their SO constantly? Pretty much no one. Everyone needs time with friends and other family now and then. It's completely normal.

My dad's fiance goes on trips overseas a lot. They are both constantly traveling, both alone and together at times. I think its great! The guy must trust his wife, I don't see the big deal..its awesome she has such freedom!

I go on maybe one a year with my sisters as a girls trip, and it's never anything as extravagant as Europe. I personally do think it's kind of odd. I always feel shitty for leaving him behind while we go somewhere he's probably never been. So I could never do more than that one week if at all.

Look, I love my husband to DEATH! He is my best friend in the world and I don't know what I would do without him. However, he can be a buzzkill on vacations. He doesn't like traveling far, he doesn't like the beach, he likes to be in bed at a certain time....and I usually love that. But on vacation I want to be free to do what I want and I love to travel. So we go on little weekend vacations together and even a large one once a year, but if I want to go to the beach, or go to a party spot like Vegas, I go with friends. Not hubby. It's okay to spend time apart. It's healthy actually.
