FAILED!?

my first IUI failed and I just can’t believe it. I’ve read so many stories about women having multiple IUI done before conceiving and some that didn’t conceive at all. BUT I JUST CANT BELIEVE. Like do I really want to put myself through a second one? All those shots, doctors appts, mood swings, symptom obsessing, NEGATIVE TEST. I just don’t know...

I’m in the TWW of my 3rd. I’ve heard chances of success increase with each additional one, so hopefully 3rd times a charm. If this one fails though I’m taking a month or two off. Hang in there!

I just keep thinking, do it! I just got my 2nd negative today from IUI. As much as I’m going through, I know it will be worth it. Just think finish line and not the journey it takes to get there. I’ve cried a lot today so I know it’s easier said then done, but we’re going through something that once we get out BFP we’re going to appreciate every little uncomfortable feeling/ kick/ hormonal pregnant day we’ll have. I can’t fucking wait for it all! ❤️

Hey there! I totally understand your frustration! I went through 8. What you need to remember though, IUI increases your chances but it’s not so much different than having sex, in a sense that, if you were just trying at home you wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t get pregnant after one or two months. With iui (I’m sure you already know) the sperm and egg still got to meet and then implant, so your body still has to do all the work. I had to have this conversation with my dr because yeah, it seems after all the work with iui it should take right away, but unfortunately that isn’t the case, they give us all the tools to try to increase our chances but at the end our bodies still need to cooperate. Hang in there!

My RE requires 3 iuis before moving onto ivf... I swore the 3rd was going to be successful because we were very active before and after iui and sperm count was at its highest ever at 122 million. We were so devastated when af came 2 days late. We are going to start ivf this cycle. Don’t lose hope but also find out what your RE requires to move on or change medication.

Today is 11dpiui from my first iui, I had no trigger shot. I tested and it was negative. So so sad that I’ll have to do this again. I’m 30 and I’ve never been pregnant and I just want to give my husband and myself a family so badly. Each passing month makes me feel like it will never happen and we’re in a lot of medical debt. So depressed.
