Spotting

My period ended on March 28th, and next period shows to start April 24th. However, on April 7th, I went to the restroom and had blood (spotting) on toilet paper. My left abdominal had slight pain most of that day. I’ve never felt ovulation before. I also suffer from PCOS. This spotting happened 2 weeks before expected period. Today, the 21st, marks 2 weeks. Anyone ever experience this before and should I be concerned? I’m waiting to take a test until the morning, but I’m certain it will be negative. And, I will be calling my Doctor, I’m just looking for similarities of this happening to other people and what was the reason.
