I’m on a debate with my mother about lottery tickets. We usually buy a few once in a while sometimes my mother will give me one or I will. But we were talking about this and saying how some people will have different views on this topic.

If someone goes to a gas station and buys a few lottery tickets and that person gives one of them away to someone else, say a friend or significant other..

And that other person happens to win from that given ticket...

Who should keep the money?

The person who bought the lottery ticket?

Or

The person who was given the lottery tickets?
