Teeth whitening?

What are some ways to whiten your teeth if they are sensitive? I’ve had professional whitening done (zoom whitening) and it was the most painful experience I’ve ever had. I had horrible pain for over a month. I already had sensitive teeth to begin with, but the dentist assured me that it would be okay and now I think that they’re worse. It also turned out very splotchy. I currently use the extra whitening sensodyne toothpaste. My teeth aren’t too bad but I’d really like them to be whiter. Does anyone have some tips?
