Texting in relationships!

So my now boyfriend and I have been dating for like two weeks but we’d known one another for like half a year. This is my first serious relationship so I was just wondering, is texting important in a relationship? I’m really new to all of this and just wanted to know

We text what we’re doing and update one another and texting is sometimes interesting (especially sexting) but sometimes it’s just boring and a bit dry and repetitive. Any suggestions? Thoughts? Thanks ladies!
