The Controversial LGBT Marriage Announcement

So, I'm just going to rant here, number one, because this is a good place to rant. Two, I want your opinion. Not because it's going to change anything, because it probably won't, but just because I'm a curious 16 yr old.

So, ever since I could remember, I've been a supporter of LGBT communities and their right to marriage. I am Christian and I do believe in the Lord, and I am not LGBT, either. I just think that every person on this planet, no matter sexuality, race, gender, deserve equality. And what I think is most confusing, is how many people are getting mad about this. Because there are two types of people who are getting mad.

1) People who don't agree with LGBT communities or their marriage for a number of reasons.

2) People who are getting mad at the people described in #1.

I think we a need to take a deep breath, and relax. We need to stop getting vicious about this and think of it this way.

Every person, no matter the gender, can finally get married w/o the inconvenience of having to move to a state that allows it. The means equality for everyone, not just straight people. Your sexuality shouldn't be the base on which your equality gets based on. And now it isn't. I know people are mad, and I understand. But it breaks my heart to read people getting so angry and rude about it, when really, it probably doesn't affect you at all. And if it does, I'm almost 100% sure it's not going to affect you in a bad way.

So what now? We can see two men with wedding rings holding hands in every state. We can see two married women holding hands in every state. Which is great. At least I think so.

And please remember this, no matter where you go, who you talk to, there will ALWAYS be people doubting you, and disagreeing with you. But don't let that shut you up, or stop standing up for what you believe in. Just be nicer about it please. 👬👭🌈🇺🇸
