I divorced my ex husband and left him the house we built together, the furniture, appliances, all his toys, trucks and belongings. I just took my car and fought for our kids. I wanted full custody, which I did get. 
I got full custody, my car paid off, and some child support. 
My car payments were $426 a month and we still owed about $19,000 on it, and being a single mother starting out it was going to be super hard for me to make that kind of payment as well as rent, utilities, food, gas, insurance, etc. So I asked for him to pay it off. But yeah, other than those things that’s all I got and really all I wanted, even though I had many family and friends telling me to fight for more.
