would you recommend a single or a double stroller for kids 3 years apart?

What would be better a single stroller or a double stroller for a newborn and a 3y.o. I wanted to buy a single stroller with a bassinet for a newborn and thought maybe my 3y.o. won't want to sit in the stroller. What's your experience?

I had a double, my youngest r a yr apart.....it was nice having and we used it ALL the time (it was one that converted to toddler chairs), the only bad part was it was so bulky and heavy

We have a 3 year old and a 6 week old...my 3 year old has not wanted to be in a stroller for the last 12 months.he would rather help push. We have a single stroller, but like the idea of the sit/stand strollers, although we probably won’t spend the money, since he wants to walk and we need him to get energy out

I bought a sit and stand for less then $100 at Kohl’s with a coupon just for zoo trips and things like that. My kids are 3yrs apart. Worked for us! Also look into soft sided wagons 👍🏻

Or you could get one of those red wagons?
Put the newborn car seat in it then your other little one can get in and out easily as they please. Then as your newborn grows they just sit in it as well!

I would just get a single. Even if your 3 year old still rides in the stroller now, he won’t for much longer.

I would get something like the Britax B-Ready that can be a single stroller or you can add a seat to make it a double. Either that or something like the BabyTrend sit n stand that has a little jump seat and platform for the older one to sit or stand behind baby if they get tired of walking. 
Those are just 2 specific examples but there are lots of similar strollers to either of those from all different brands and price ranges.

Honestly, this is going to be determined by your 3 yo.  A sit and stand is a nice option if the toddler still gets tired when walking, but if not then a single should be fine.  
 
Perhaps a single with an optional kick board (a place to stand)
