Do you think there should be an age limit on when a parent can hit their child? (read description)

For example, I'm about to be 20 and I live with my parents (going to college) and my parents, at least with me, they have no problem threatening me to being hit, and they have actually hit me as well (They are the type to give whoopings with belts and so forth). 
Do you feel that parents always have a right to hit their children? Or should it stop once they reach a certain age?

I don’t think a parent should ever hit their kid, regardless of age 🤷🏻‍♀️
If it’s not ok to do it to an adult, then why is it acceptable to smack a small child?

Hitting anyone I'd considered assault. Do you mean spanking? If you mean hitting like slapping or punching no matter what age that is abuse and of it were reported the child would be removed from the home. If you're an adult and they hit you, you can call the cops and have them arrested for assault.

I think it’s okay to slap your child’s hand if they do something wrong from ages 3-8 or something but if your parents are hitting you and you’re 20, that’s not right.

Hitting? Never Spanking? Depends on the age. After a while, its not going to work and other forms of punishment should be enacted. However, at your age, you should know how to act for this not to be a factor in general.

Wow I don't think they should do it with a belt. Here even hitting with a hand is now illegal. I dunno I think  a little smack isn't too bad. I don't think they should do it when their child is above a certain age and not really a child anymore but I'm not sure about making a law about it
