army wives???

Question

my boyfriend is joining the army as a 31bravo (military police) and I'm super scared. we're getting married before he enlists and our son will be 3 1/2. I feel like his chances of deployment are higher with this job. plus we're going to be living on base. I'm super new to this and it's a big change. if anyone could give me any advice or suggestions to make things easier I would appreciate it. also if anyone has a significant other or knows someone that is a military police officer can you share your experience with me please

He "might" deploy but if he does it's behind enemy lines,Infintry and armor are the ones too really worry about deploying. If he deploys he will more than likely just guarding things on base or guarding things being transported,they see very little action. He most likely will just stay stationed on the base as an MP...Also look up the base you're moving too and see if the have a Military spouses page,those pages are so helpful. You can ask tons of questions regarding housing,childcare ,the all around lay out of the base and if you have an address you can meet your neighbors before you arrive.

My fiancé (getting married in August) is in the military and is infantry and ohmygod the fear of him getting deployed is always on my mind. 
My ex was an MP and the whole 3 years we were together he never got deployed. There is always a chance because of being in the military but the chance is way slimmer then most other jobs in the military. It’s scary but we can do it. 
If you ever need someone to talk to my inbox is always open. It is scary but it’s easier with the support of other military spouses . Unfortunately all my fiancé’s friends dont have girlfriends so I’m the only one lol !

I was active duty army. Basically the only difference between infantry and mil police is one drives and one walks.  That's a quote from my drill sgts who where infantry and mil police lol. I've also dated a few mil police back in the day. Yes it's possible he can deploy more with that job but it's not a garantee. You really can't predict how a career is going to go. I've know people with all kids of crazy jobs who should have deployed and never did. Example my cousin has been in over 20yrs and she's never gone. It's just how fate goes. As for being married there's definitely benefits. More money and health insurance are the big ones. The big thing is that military is hard and even harder in some aspects on spouses. If you make that leap just know it's not always going to be easy but no marriage is. You will need to give him your support and be very understanding. I've lived on both sides of it. It's never easy especially when they leave. I was active for 8yrs and never deployed. I'm out now and my husband who's only reserve and been in 5yrs has deployed. He literally left 5mths after we got married for Bagram. It was tough but we made it through. It was worth it, I wouldn't change anything.
