Who’s Gonna Be in the Delivery Room?
I have a dilemma, ladies. For most of my pregnancy I’ve been adamant that I just wanted my fiancé in the delivery room with me when I gave birth. Once when I mentioned the possibility of having my mom there, he said “well then can my mom be in the room too?” (He’s a mama’s boy but that’s not necessarily a bad thing).
Now I’m having second thoughts and I might want my mom there after all. She’s done a LOT for me this pregnancy and I feel like when it comes down to it, when someone’s terrified and in pain, who wouldn’t want their mother? The issue is I’ve been saying for weeks that I want just my fiancé in the room, and I’m worried that he won’t be receptive to my possible change in plans. I’m also worried that he’ll ask for his mom to be there, too. My future MIL and I don’t have any problems with each other (as far as I know), but we aren’t that close and I don’t think I’d feel comfortable having her there while I’m so exposed. What should I do?
