Is 6 weeks too early?

I’m 4 weeks today and had my blood drawn on Monday and got my call today and was told my HCG level is at 259! My doctor said I can book an ultrasound and another blood test(blood test this week) and have my ultrasound in a week or two! Is 6 weeks really too early? This is my first pregnancy so I’m excited to see it all! I know I won’t see much but it’s still nice knowing everything is okay and looks good! When did you have your first ultrasound? Or when are you?

Ultrasound tech here! We can normally see a sac at 4 weeks. Sometimes we can find the heart beats at 6, but it’s hard and rare. It also depends on what equipment they have. They do ultrasounds this early to confirm that the pregnancy is in your uterus and not your tubes. 😊

They typically don't do them until 7-9 weeks. 6 weeks can be too early to see baby or even a heartbeat. I got mine done at what I thought was 7+5 but measured 6+5 and just barely saw the little bean and heard the heartbeat.

I would wait until the 8-12 week window. Sometimes earlier than that they can’t find a heartbeat or see baby clearly and it causes unnecessary worry

I had my ultrasound st 6 weeks 5 days. While you can’t see too much st that stage, at least you can see the heartbeat and that baby is growing in the right place, so I definitely think it’s worth doing.

6w1d measuring 3 days ahead. saw and heard hb...I think it was in the 140s at this point... But everyone's different so don't be upset if you don't

My original ultrasound was scheduled for 6 weeks. But I had to go a week early due to some bleeding and you could see the baby and heartbeat.

Mine scheduled me for 8 weeks. But they said they normally do them 6 to 8 weeks. Looking at pictures it doesn’t look like you can see much at 6 so I’m kind of glad I’m doing it at 8.

We don't get any tests in Ireland until near the end of the 1st trimester. I'm planning on getting a private scan at 9 weeks. 8 is the earliest you can go.
