Would you drive an hour and half away to party at 37.5 weeks ?

My bf wants to go to his uncles bday party but I said it’s too risky and it’s and hour and half away from the hospital. Am I being crazy? I’m scared I may go into labor ... I had my son at 38 weeks

My hospital is over an hour away... it’s INSANELY rare for labor to be that fast you couldn’t make it.

I just took a short flight to another island for the day for a wedding this last weekend at 37.5 weeks too! I asked my doctors and they said as long as I wasn’t feeling any contractions before then I should go for it. I made it back home a-ok.

My oldest had a competition 2 hours away last weekend and I had to miss it because my doctor told me that I shouldn't travel more than an hour away after 36 weeks. Luckily my husband was able to take him.

I live an hour & 9 minutes from the hospital I’ll be delivering at, and if I happen to be in town (where I work, shop, etc) I’ll be an hour & twenty minutes from my delivery hospital...

It’s the drive back with contractions that worries me the most .... not the i might have a baby in the car part .

I’d go but put my hospital bag in the trunk. Labor isn’t 1.5h unfortunately

I get uncomfortable on like a 10 minute carride. I would not want to drive 90 minutes away. Sitting in the car makes me nauseous and my back ends up killing me.

You can probably make it to the hospital once labor starts but try to have your bag in the car so you don’t have to go to the house, stop for gas/food/whatever and then go to the hospital. At least the party will have food! Just be ready to go in case your water breaks or contractions start. I wouldn’t go because I have nausea and motion sickness. I’m even debating mothers day visit since its an hour away. I know we’ll have to stop every 15 min so I don’t puke therefore it’s really a longer drive.
