Birth story. Quick and easy
Finally getting around to tell my birth story - finally. I’ll keep it quick!
I was 40 +5 - first time Mum. On Friday at 11pm I started having very mild contractions. Thought - “this is it!”. After having contractions every 5 mins for 3 hours - I called midwife to see if we should come in. They said I could talk through my contractions so it was most likely false labour! I was sooo gutted! So my contractions eased off and started getting further apart. Anyway long story short - I was on labour on and off for 15 hours. I was shattered. Finally went into birth centre - I was 6cm!!! Get me! I was super happy.
I got straight into the water tub, straight on the gas and air. Laboured for another 5 hours in tub (which flew by!!) then I reached 9.5 cm. time to push! 20 mins later - April Amelia was born.
Had a 2nd degree year , which is not too bad as she didn’t turn her shoulders.
I honestly felt labour was easy - I thought the membrane sweep and having the stitches was worse.
My little one is such an angel - I’m so happy I got to have the birth I wanted!
