Raising a bilingual baby (English/Spanish)
Alright, so my son isn’t due until late August but I want to teach him Spanish and English as he grows up (I already read Spanish stories to him despite not being here yet lol that may sound weird to some and I understand 😂)
I am considered an “intermediate” Spanish speaker, meaning I can have conversations no problem here and there, but not yet fluent so I do still struggle to say as much as I’d like.
I want to raise him by speaking Spanish and English at home and was wondering what the best way to go about that is..no one else family wise here knows Spanish (they’re just all white as fuck and didn’t care to learn lol..) and all my Spanish speaking friends are forever away in my hometown. Eventually I’ll find classes when he’s older for him to attend to or maybe even consider a mother’s helper who’s fluent in Spanish. Depends.
I know plenty of Spanish songs, Spanish shows and movies I could play, and so forth..I really want to raise him to have an open mind to other cultures as well.
Thanks for any advice!💕
