Is okay for my boyfriend to not have the mindset “dating to marry”

i’ve only been dating my boyfriend for 6 months but we have been friends for over a year. the conversation came up and I asked him if he thinks i’m even the one for him. he replied saying “idk about the one , we are still so young.”

I agree, we are young. only 20 and still in our third year of college, but the connection we have in unreal. he and I both admit that we have never had a relationship where we clicked so well and been able to talk for so long about everything and so on. I feel like he is the one for me and I definitely date to marry but he simply said that he doesn’t want to expect anything bc that just leads to disappointment if it doesn’t. which that is true as well but i don’t want to waste my time. I don’t want to get so close and let someone come into my life and heart who just ends up leaving and being someone I used to know. Your thoughts ??
