I personally hate when people say that. How does an optional app ruin your relationship? If your partner is cheating he will find a way with or without social media.

No 😂 a social media app plays zero role in our marriage. And if you’re really letting an app ruin your relationship then you need to do some soul searching and see a therapist or something. Maybe even delete the apps since you’re too immature to use them properly. There’s no need for you to let it cause problems. (And not YOU as in the OP haha just anyone in general who is having this issue with social media).

Exactlyyyy it's the people who are already cheaters and who make too big of a deal out of social media (he liked his female friend's picture! He won't put his relationship status!) who ruin their own relationships

Yes and No. Regardless of any circumstance it'll happen if that person lets it happen. But, since social media is so "in our faces" now a days, people see EVERYTHING that everyone else is doing and they constantly compare their lives. A lot of us didn't grow up with social media so the concept of it is a little bizarre. On top of that, it actually is a gateway to let others think they can come in and sway you or deter you from your loved one. In no way am i saying the person is not responsible for their actions, but things happen if you put your shit out there. Example: A girl has been fighting with her husband, bf, gf, what have you... instead of talking or fixing it she complains on fb (or hell doesn't say anything at all) and simply changes her profile picture. She looks beautiful, it comes up on some guys feed and he decides to message her,things go from there, and she gets sucked into a conversation that probably shouldn't be had. That's how it starts. Is she responsible for shutting that shit down? ABSOLUTELY. But it's social media in general that's kinda the problem. Its a quick gateway to comparison, temptation, etc. Shit, I posted a recipe for MYSELF to remember and some dude commented saying he could come over and id cook for him. Hubs was not pleased. But it is what it is. There's always people lurking.

Social media is not the problem. There are already issues in a relationship and/or with the emotional and mental wellbeing/maturity of one or both people in the relationship if social media is causing such a problem the relationship is at risk.

Social media isn’t the problem but it’s used as a vehicle for cheaters to cheat. Cheaters use it to find and communicate with more victims. It’s easy at your fingertips access to literally millions of women. I guess I think of it more as a tool for a cheater than the cause of a broken relationship.
