36+4 weeks

I went in today due to increased pressure and I'm now 20 to 30% effaced and 1 and 1/2 cm dilated how is that possible but I'm having contractions that aren't painful at all just my back hurts really bad either my Dr is wrong or things are going backwards instead of forward bc I've been 50% efaced and 2 1/2 cm dilated for two weeks now so idk what's going on
