To all the girls asking if they’re pretty...

It doesn’t matter. Stop teaching yourself to judge your worth by your beauty. I see so many people saying “every woman is beautiful!” When will we stop lying and instead say “it doesn’t matter if you’re beautiful or not, that shouldn’t be how you measure your worth!”

Of course, there’s nothing wrong with posting pictures where you feel beautiful or commenting that someone looks lovely in a photo, but I’m so saddened whenever I see a topic where a girl is asking if she’s ‘pretty.’ And of course all these people comment about how gorgeous she is (even if, in all honesty, by current beauty standards she just isn’t). I know these comments come from a place of love and kindness, but they just reinforce the idea that you have to be pretty to be valued. You will always be ugly to someone, and someone will always find you beautiful. So stop trying to focus on that and foster growth in other areas!

Ladies: you don’t have to be beautiful to be worthy of love and respect.
