Texas HS Shooting question

As I’ve watched the events play out today and the information come in.... (prayers and love for the lives lost, their families and community)

It has been reported that the 17 year old responsible got these guns from his dad without his knowledge. The guns were legally registered to the dad.

I was chatting with some friends and one of them brought up the term vicarious liability and felt the father should be held accountable to a certain extent. My other friends strongly disagreed.

So here’s my question....

Do you think the dad should be held responsible in some degree?
