Do you think doctors are jumping to c-sections too quickly?

So earlier today I got together with some old high school friends. 2 of the 5 of us are pregnant and the other 3 of us already have children. Me and the 2 other moms all have 3 kids and have had 3 c-sections, all starting with one emergency c-section. So it got me thinking, are c-sections being used too quickly?

In my case, I had an emergency c-section with my first, a failed vbac with my second that led to the scariest c-section I’ve ever experienced and then an elective with my third. I know personally, it save me and my children’s lives but it does make you wonder if we intervene in birth too quickly.
