My sweet girl decided to come meet her mommy and daddy on Thursday, just two days after her due date! My water broke early that morning and when I finally decided that that’s what had happened, I called the doctor. She wanted me to get to the hospital right away because my amniotic fluid was Meconium stained, so we loaded up and headed over! (Leave it to me to be packing my hospital bag while I wait for my husband to get home and take me to the hospital. 😅)

We got to the hospital just before noon and they checked me and I was not dilated at all. Around 4, they started me on Cytotec and I started having contractions and progressing. I got an epidural at 9:00, and settled in for a long night. Baby girl had a rough time. We had to change positions every 30 min-1 hour to keep her heart rate from dropping, and I started to get a fever which was also hard on her. I finally started pushing around 6:30am on Thursday morning and Emi was born at 7:28! Her umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck 4 times and the doctor said she has never had that happen before. All of our nurses have told me how fortunate we are that she lived, let alone had a vaginal delivery. Besides being itty bitty, little miss is doing so well and we can not wait to get out of the hospital and get home!
