What is a health concern that you feel needs more studies/research done?

Me

A little about me, I have a B.S. in Psychology with a focus in neuroscience. (So all my psychology course work was neuroscience related, nothing clinical or anything like that). For my final research paper, I had to write about a health topic I felt was lacking. This along with the post about drinking while pregnancy got me thinking. So to make it more interesting and promote some awareness.

What is a health concern you feel needs more research and studies? (anything from drug addictions, cancer, genetic abnormalities, even mental health)

Provide 3 facts about your health concern.

To make it a little controversial, why do you think this area is lacking in research or information?

Alzheimer’s (my facts are based from the US)

1 in 3 seniors die from Alzheimer’s

5.7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s

It is in the top 10 leading causes of death and is the only one that cannot be prevented, slowed down, or cured.

Personally, feel like enough research isn’t done because the lack of resources we have (were not as far advanced as we think we are), there has to be some financial motivation as to why it’s not being researched enough. This “diagnosis” has been around for decades and is the only one that is not curable. I say “diagnosis” cause it can only be definitively confirmed after death.
